Maranda Elizabeth is wearing purple, though she’s critical of days of mourning & remembrance that often turn into vapid celebrations & careless fashion statements; queer suicides are not a recent epidemic, & life does not magically get better after high school. Wearing purple is a nice, supportive gesture, but it will never be enough. Please think about the ways you / the world / the patriarchy perpetuate(s) heteronormativity & queerphobia and help us destroy it, okay?
